→ The Brief

A bold idea. No brand. No app. No playbook.

The founders of Drivergill came to Celestial IT Verse with a clear vision: build India’s most trusted driver-on-demand platform — where car owners could hire professional, verified drivers for their own vehicles, and professional drivers could earn a sustainable income through flexible work.

There was no app, no brand identity, no marketing strategy, and no technology stack in place. They needed a partner who could think from first principles — understand the market, define the product experience, build both sides of the marketplace, and help them grow after launch.

That is exactly what Celestial IT Verse delivered.

→ The Challenge

A two-sided marketplace is twice as hard

Most apps serve one type of user. Drivergill had to serve two completely different users simultaneously — car owners who want to hire a driver, and professional drivers who want to earn. Both needed a seamless experience, both needed trust-building, and both needed to grow at the same pace or the marketplace wouldn’t function.

The challenge wasn’t just technical. It was strategic, operational, and human.

1

Two apps, one coherent brand

The rider app (Drivergill) and the driver app (Drivergill Sarthi) needed to feel like siblings — distinct enough for different users, unified enough to build one brand.

2

Trust is the entire product

Riders let strangers drive their cars. Drivers enter strangers' vehicles. Every feature — OTP login, live tracking, SOS, police-verified badges — had to answer one question: is this safe?

3

Cold-start problem

A marketplace with no drivers is useless to riders. A marketplace with no riders is useless to drivers. The launch strategy had to solve supply and demand simultaneously.

4

Zero brand equity at start

No name recognition, no reviews, no track record in a market where competitors like DriveU had years of head start. The brand had to communicate trust before the product had a chance to prove it.

→ Our Scope of Work

Everything. From strategy to App Store.

🧭

Strategy & Planning

Before writing a single line of code, we mapped the market, defined the user personas, and built a product roadmap that solved the cold-start problem and created a path to profitability.

🎨

Brand Identity

We built the Drivergill brand from scratch — name, logo, colour system, typography, tone of voice, and a visual identity that communicates trust and professionalism to both riders and drivers.

📱

App Development

We designed and built two complete, production-grade apps using Flutter — the rider app (Drivergill) and the driver app (Drivergill Sarthi) — both live on iOS and Android.

⚙️

Backend & Infrastructure

A robust, scalable backend that handles real-time location updates, driver matching, booking management, payment processing, and push notifications — built to scale across India.

🌐

Website Development

We designed and developed drivergill.com — a conversion-focused marketing website that serves both riders and drivers, with clear download CTAs, safety messaging, and blog infrastructure.

📈

Brand Marketing & Growth

Post-launch, we continued as Drivergill's growth partner — managing their digital marketing, ASO strategy, social media presence, and advising on expansion into new cities.

→ App Features

Built for real people, not demo days

Every feature in both apps was designed to solve a real problem — for the rider who needs a driver in 30 minutes, and for the Sarthi who needs a reliable way to earn from their profession.

Instant driver booking

Riders open the app, enter their location, and a verified nearby driver is matched and dispatched — with real-time ETA and live tracking on the map.

Live GPS tracking

From driver pickup to trip completion, riders track the journey in real time. Trip progress is shareable — send live location to family or colleagues.

Transparent upfront pricing

Riders see the fare before confirming — no surge pricing surprises. Drivergill Sarthi shows drivers their estimated earnings before they accept.

Multi-service booking

Riders can book for local hourly trips, half-day, full-day, outstation journeys, or regular daily commutes — each with appropriate pricing structures.

OTP & Aadhaar verification

Every driver completes OTP-based login and Aadhaar KYC before being approved. Riders see verification status before confirming a booking.

SOS emergency button

One-tap SOS alert sends the rider's live location to emergency contacts and the Drivergill safety team — a trust feature that converts hesitant users.

Driver earnings dashboard

Sarthi app gives professional drivers a full view of their trip history, weekly earnings, performance rating, and instant payment status.

In-app chat & support

Riders and drivers can communicate within the app before and during trips — without sharing personal phone numbers.

→ How We Worked

From first conversation to App Store — in phases

Timeline Design
PHASE 1
Week
1–2

Discovery & Strategy

Understanding the market before touching the product.

We spent the first two weeks doing nothing but research and planning. Market analysis of DriveU, SafarConnect, and unorganised local driver services. User interviews with car owners and professional drivers in Delhi NCR. Definition of the two core user personas and their critical needs.

PHASE 2
Week
3–4

Brand Identity

Building a brand that earns trust before the app launches.

We created the complete Drivergill brand identity — logo, colour palette built around trust and safety, typography that works across app and marketing materials, and a brand guidelines document that ensures consistency across every touchpoint.

PHASE 3
Week
5–6

UI/UX Design

Designing two apps, one experience.

We designed the complete UI for both the rider app and Drivergill Sarthi (driver app) — including wireframes, user flow diagrams, and high-fidelity mockups for every screen. Usability testing with real potential users informed several key design revisions before development began.

Development

Building the marketplace — both sides, simultaneously.

12 weeks of active development. Flutter for cross-platform iOS and Android apps. Node.js backend with real-time location updates. Firebase for push notifications. Razorpay for payments. Google Maps for live tracking and geofencing. Admin panel for the Drivergill operations team to manage drivers, bookings, and disputes.
